Position Summary: Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department, plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating qualities and efficiency of the company. Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for hiring, reviewing, training, coaching dispatch team, service technicians and all other tradespersons. Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of our maintenance and construction divisions.
Job Tasks & Responsibilities:• Manage customer relations and have daily communication with all clients that have active projects with us• Determine staff requirements to maintain desired service levels• Hire and train great people as needed to become excellent team members• Work with employees to set their goals and objectives• Identify opportunities to further train & develop staff in order to maximize their potential• Evaluate current business procedures and systems for dispatch, client interaction and work flow• Plan and implement procedures or systems to maximize operating efficiency• Review performance data, financials, and sales activities to monitor and measure productivity, good progress and employee activity levels• Conduct daily meetings with project administrator and dispatcher to obtain current work order details• Schedule and develop monthly training program for dispatchers and Service Technicians• Quarterly service tech performance reviews• Evaluate time spent by employees per task for use in employee evaluations• Review personnel requirements for each project and fill positions or outsource to subcontractors as needed• Ensure project schedules are created according to company policies and client requests• Ensure project schedules are followed• Ensure that project costs remain within the budget set for the project• As required or directed, be prepared to carry out other duties and responsibilities, and assist other company personnel• Must have a written continued education plan • Create and maintain comprehensive employee training manuals• Enforce safe work environment in the field and in the shop as per safety manuals and OSHA standards• Actively track and pursue written career goals
Results Expected:• Maintain high quality client relations by calling, creating events for customers to attend for non-issue specific, relationship building. i. At least two events per week• Increase work order volume from existing clients month to month and year to date by 10%• Maintain high quality employee relations
Education and Experience:• Minimum 5 to 8 years trade management experience or equivalent• Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field• Experience with managing staff of 20 or more• Knowledge of strategic planning• Knowledge of human resources, management principles and procedures• Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices• Knowledge of office administrative procedures• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and experience with construction estimating software such as Exactimate, Prolog, Quicken, American Contractor or others• Knowledge of all construction trades such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, framing (metal and wood), drywall, FRP, ceiling grid, ceramic tile, cabinetry, and general finish work, restaurant equipment• Commercial building code knowledge• ADA code knowledge
